Joey

Please meet Joey! This poor baby is a one year old labrador/terrier mixed breed who is blind in his right eye. It's very sad because Joey's blindness is as a result of an eye infection that was left untreated - Joey did not have to lose his sight but for neglect! Joey is a good boy and a typical puppy that was never paid attention to - He needs his basic obedience training, to learn to love other animals and how to act around children. We are hoping that someone out there will care for Joey the way his former owner did not - He needs love, patience and affection! If you cannot adopt Joey, perhaps you can foster him and help mold this sweet, innocent pup into a good dog that you will be proud of! Please help this baby - Spending time in our Shelter is not what he needs!

Bandit

Despite the fact that Bandit had to have one of his eyes removed due to a horrible infection, it does not slow him down one bit!  He is always a joy and has such zest for life.  Bandit is living at a private boarding kennel but he needs more exercise and time out of a kennel than he is getting. He does not like to be alone too much and he is hoping for a foster or permanent home where someone is home a lot to love him, so he can love them and make them smile in return! An active person or someone who can exercise this young boy and not leave him alone too much would be a perfect match for Bandit. He is great company and will have you laughing all the time! We believe at least for now that Bandit should be an only pet or in a home who can responsibly keep him separate from other dogs. Bandit is calm, does not jump up, and has started his obedience classes and is really a smart boy. Bandit is neutered, up to date on his shots and on HW preventative. This boy is a winner!  Bandit is currently in foster care and anyone interested in knowing more about him can contact his foster family through camcoshelter@yahoo.com.

Darla

Update - Look at me now!! We are thrilled to show everyone how well Darla is progressing - Her mange is getting better every single day! All she still needs is some medicated baths to finish her treatment! Darla is such a clown - We could spend hours with her, just cuddling and listening to her snort - That's right, Darla has the most adorable English Bulldog snort you have ever heard! When she is happy or excited, our girl sounds like a little piglet, just happy and squirmy! Please help us find a home for Darla so that she can enjoy the sunshine and outdoors of springtime - Spread the word that she is available at CCAS!

Please don't look away - This special girl is our Darla! Poor Darla is suffering from a severe case of mange. Mange is perfectly treatable and, had Darla's owners gotten her the proper vet care right away, Darla would not be in this sad shape. As always, we use dogs like to Darla to remind folks that neglect is a form of abuse! If you see or suspect neglect, please report it - You could save an animal a world of pain! Darla is now being treated and will be just fine - In fact, you don't even have to wait until she is done her treatment to adopt her - It is a simple matter of medicated baths and medication to help her from itching while healing! Despite her discomfort, Darla is a happy, wonderful little girl! She is still a puppy at only a year old and loves to play and have fun! Darla is very, very cuddly and she gets so happy when she gets attention that she actually snorts!! It's adorable!! Darla does need to be the only animal in her home but she will be great with children and make a loving companion. If you cannot adopt Darla perhaps you can foster her and make her comfortable in a home while she recovers! Please help Darla - This special sweetie deserves a new life!

Stevie

Update - LOOK AT ME NOW! We posted new pictures so that you can see the big smile on Stevie's face! His paw is pretty much healed and he is so much happier!! Stevie does still tend to favor his injured paw when playing but that may completely stop with time. Stevie needs no more medication or special treatment and is ready to fit into any home ready to give him lots of love! Please hurry - Stevie has already been with us far too long!

Please meet Stevie! Stevie is a two year old Chow mixed breed, who was saved from death by one of our wonderful Animal Control Officers. Stevie has a bad wound on his front paw and leg. If Stevie had not been found in time, the wound would have infected and Stevie would have died on the streets. This is why if you see a loose dog anywhere, it is so important to report it! Stevie is being seen by our private vet and is getting the proper treatment for his wound. Soft tissue wounds do take quite a while to heal and Stevie should not be recovering in a Shelter environment! We are seeking a foster home for Stevie! His care will include giving antibiotics by mouth and puttiing medication on the wound itself, as well as wrapping the area and keeping it clean. Stevie is very good natured, frisky and happy! He is good with other animals but we suggest children over toddler age until Stevie is completely healed. If you think you may be able to help Stevie with a foster or forever home, please contact us at CamCoShelter@yahoo.com!

Melody

New Update - How time flies! Melody's puppies are now eight weeks old and it's time for them to be without their momma. Melody's puppies will be available for adoption soon. Sadly, Melody's time at her foster home has run out. She is now fully healed and is living back at our Shelter. Melody is used to living in a home now and it is sad to see her back in the kennel. Please make this a short stay for Melody and give this girl a new family to love! Melody is laid back and lovable. She doesn't really care for kitties but is great with other dogs. She loves children and will be great in any home!

Update - Melody is doing great! She is able to nurse her puppies and is very grateful to her foster family and the kind folks that donated to her care! For the folks that wrote in, Melody's pups are about eight weeks away from being available for adoption but we hope everyone doesn't forget that mommy too needs a forever home!

**Update - Melody's puppies have arrived!! They are completely adorable and mommy Melody is doing just fine and taking great care of them! Here is a picture of the puppies, with their new friend, a baby goat! We will provide everyone with updates on how Melody and the puppies are progressing!

This very special girl is Melody! This beautiful girl has a very sad story - Melody, as you can see, was brought to our Shelter very pregnant, but also with a fractured pelvis. Someone most likely kicked and tried to injure Melody while she was pregnant. Because of her injuries, Melody is going to have to have a C-section so that her babies can be delivered safely. Once again, we are looking to the community to help us be able to afford Melody's surgery and safe delivery! Without your help, we are unable to save dogs like Melody and her unborn puppies! We are very lucky that a special angel has taken Melody into her home and is going to take her to vet appointments and keep Melody and her puppies safe and healthy! Without these special angels that we call fosters, dogs like Melody would have to go through all of this in a Shelter setting. Please help us help Melody!! All donations made for Melody will go directly to her care and we hope Melody's story will inspire folks to see if they have room in their home and heart to help dogs like Melody and her puppies have a chance at life!

Oscar
view profile

This special sweetheart is our friend Oscar! Oscar is a wonderful cat extremely talkative, affectionate, and playful. He has been living in a cage for so long and would love a home to call his own.

Oscar is approximately 13 years old and has been diagnosed with a kidney problem. This is very easily managed with daily medication, and Oscar should always be provided with lots of clean drinking water.

Oscar is a beautiful boy who should be living out his golden years being pampered in a home, not stuck in a cage at our shelter. Please look into your heart and see if you can be Oscar's savior.
