Save our Seniors

Senior pets are often overlooked by adopters because of their age. What many people don't realize is that seniors are often the best pets to adopt. Senior dogs are housetrained and well-mannered, and senior cats are quiet and calm. All they want is some attention. Our seniors deserve to live out their golden years in a great home! Please scroll down to see our wonderful senior pets. We're positive that you will love them as much as we do.

Congratulations to Taffy on finding a home!

Oscar
This special sweetheart is our friend Oscar! Oscar is a wonderful cat extremely talkative, affectionate, and playful. He has been living in a cage for so long and would love a home to call his own.

Oscar is approximately 13 years old and has been diagnosed with a kidney problem. This is very easily managed with special food, and Oscar should always be provided with lots of clean drinking water.

Oscar is a beautiful boy who should be living out his golden years being pampered in a home, not stuck in a cage at our shelter. Please look into your heart and see if you can be Oscar's savior.

Percy
Please meet Percy! Poor Percy has a very sad story. Percy was adopted as a kitten and lived happily in his home for eight years. After eight years of love and loyalty, he was tossed out of the house into a steel cage at our shelter. Why? Because his owner's new boyfriend was allergic to cats.

Percy is only eight years old - he has so many years ahead of him - and needs to find a family where he will be loved forever, or a family that will be willing to buy some Claritin or Zyrtec if allergies arise!

Percy is extremely affectionate and does well with both dogs and cats. He is a very happy-go-lucky guy, and we'd love to see him in his FOREVER home as soon as possible!

If Percy sounds like a good match for you, please come see him at our Moorestown Petsmart Adoption Center (1331 Nixon Drive) today - he loves visitors!

Wilma
Please take a long look at this smile and meet Wilma! Wilma is a pitbull/terrier mixed breed who is about eight or so years old. We can't imagine how someone could toss Wilma into the street after she gave them a lifetime of love, but that is exactly what has happened. Now instead of spending her golden years in spoiled comfort, Wilma is living in a kennel, sad and alone. Because of her age, Wilma is very calm and has nice manners. But don't let the grey hair fool you - Wilma still has her spunky side and loves to play! She is great at fetch but does tire easily. Wilma loves toys and she is really a fun gal! Wilma is well-trained, friendly and will do great in any home - Other dogs, cats, kids - Everyone is someone new for Wilma to win over! Dogs like Wilma don't always get a second chance to start their lives over - Please don't pass Wilma by - She is a gem! Now, please take another long look at this smile - Doesn't she deserve your love?

Rocky II
Update - There is some great news for Rocky! One of our wonderful volunteers thought it was so sad that after loving his family for nine years, Rocky ended up in our Shelter. So Rocky is now living in foster care! Rocky's foster family tells us he is so friendly that everyone that comes to their barn just loves him! Rocky made friends with their miniatures horses that have the paddock next to his and he also likes the cats who enjoy teasing him. He loves to go for long walks and his favorite toy is an orange colored football and he also likes to retrieve tennis balls. At night he curls himself up in an armchair and they leave light music on for him for the night. Rocky's foster family sure loves him but he cannot stay there forever. Please give this good boy a forever home! If you are interest in meeting Rocky, please contact his foster family through CamCoShelter@yahoo.com!

Original Posting - Please meet Rocky II! Since we already have a Rocky with us and this boy's name for nine years has been Rocky, we decided he could be a sequel! Rocky is a purebred German Shepherd, who was surrendered to our Shelter because he was not doing well with a five year child. So no more toddlers in Rocky's home, please. Rocky did not bite anyone and has no aggression issues that we can see - In fact, this guy is pretty much perfect! Obediant and sweet, Rocky loves attention and praise. He knows all of his basic commands and is good with other dogs and kitties. Please give this wonderful boy a forever home and adopt him today!

Gina
This beautiful rare blue pitbull terrier is Gina! Poor Gina has a sad story - Gina was kept as a "breeding" dog. Because of her beauty and color, Gina was obviously forced to bear litter after litter of puppies, which we are sure were taken from her and sold for profit on the streets. Gina is now about eight years old and since she is no longer good for breeding, her heartless "owner" simply tossed her out into those same streets. Gina was not a beloved pet and it is sad that she doesn't really understand what love and affection are all about. Gina is wishing for a home that will give her the golden years that she deserves and a chance to know happiness! Gina is calm and gentle. She doesn't really care for other animals but would love a child of any age. It is not too late for Gina to have a happy life - Please spread the word that Gina is available at Camden County Animal Shelter and is waiting and praying for a second chance!

Connor
Please meet Connor! This big goofy guy had us at hello! Connor is a shepherd mixed breed who is a senior - Connor is probably about eight years old. But just look him - Connor has so many good years left and he deserves to live them in a loving home! Connor is so calm and gentle and just loves everyone - Other dogs, kitties, children of any age - Connor just wants to love you! Because of his age, Connor will not be a high energy/high maintenance kind of guy, although he does enjoy a nice brisk walk. Mostly, Connor loves to cuddle and make new friends! We are hoping that a special family will give Connor his chance at Chapter Two of his life - Please hurry!
